10/02/2022 - 11/02/2022
On February 10 and 11, the New Year’s Reception of the Research Centre for Sustainable and Smart Infrastructure takes place in an online format. In the structural and energy change there are many challenges not only for our region Central Germany. Our leading research, startups, companies and municipalities are working on concrete solutions to make our world more sustainable with smart resources. For overall success, transparency and the merging of ideas and approaches is essential. Thats why we would like to devote two days to the opportunities and projects that are planned and already exist.
The work of the Digital City Leipzig department will be presented in this context. For example, interested parties can gain insights into SPARCS, which is dedicated internationally to topics related to the intelligent use of (renewable) energy, or hear how the Smart City Challenge Leipzig has been attracting startups and established companies to current issues of digitalization in the city since 2021. In addition, the three new topics of the Smart City Challenge 2022 will be introduced, for which the best digital solutions are again sought until 08.04.2022.
The CUT (Connected Urban Twins) project, a city cooperation between Leipzig, Munich and Hamburg, will also be portrayed. It is about digital twins, i.e. dynamic, virtual and interactive 3D city models, which are created by the participating cities with the integration of sensor data.
Everyone who would like to get an impression of these and other projects in the course of digitization is invited to participate in the free online event, to get to know concrete approaches and to join in the discussion.
