We are glad to invite you to apply to the open call for speakers for the workshop on “P2P ENERGY PLATFORMS” that the EU-funded smart cities projects POCITYF and SPARCS are organizing as a side event of the URBIS Smart City Fair, that will take place in Brno (CZ) from the 2nd to the 3rd of September 2020. 

To apply you are kindly invited to compile this module with your contact information and a short description of the speech you would like to propose by the 20th of June 2020. You will then be contacted by organizers as soon as the assessment phase will be concluded.

Abstracts will be selected by a technical experts committee according to the following criteria:

• Abstract and title of the speech demonstrate the intent concisely 
• Topic is timely for the industry today and will attract attendees
• Context of the issues including real-world case studies, examples, and stories
• Speaker is experienced on the topic submitted
• Balanced representation of use cases and topics

 We expect contributions on the following topics, but also other relevant topics may be considered:

• Citizen engagement  – How do you effectively engage citizens to take an active role in smart city solutions?
• Business models   –  What revenue flows should be established in order for the P2P platform to be bankable?
• Distribution grid  –  Definitions of Citizens and Renewables Energy Communities provided in the revised Electricity and Renewable Energy Directives are still blurry when it comes to distribution grid ownership and management. How should the relation of DSOs and Energy Communities be delineated (in terms of tariffs, rights and obligations towards grid assets, etc.)?
• Energy poverty – How to channel community-level benefits of Energy Communities to alleviate energy poverty? Which crowdfunding schemes can be implemented?
• Municipality perspective – How should municipalities position themselves towards this solution: promoters or users?
• ICT tools – How to capitalise on emergent technologies to improve the P2P energy exchange experience?
