The practical demonstrations from the Lighthouse City Espoo and the demo areas of Leppävaara and Espoonlahti act as guiding light for sustainable and smart urban development and the integration of novel energy and e-mobility solutions in the built environment. Finnoo is one of the replication sites of the SPARCS project, where lessons learned from the project are being used.

Finnoo is a pioneer of sustainable urban construction, in which those involved are committed to sustainable development measures. Sustainable urban construction is guided by low-emission and sustainable solutions, and developers, for example, are required to commit to energy-efficient solutions. As a rapidly developing area, Finnoo offers a good platform for the replication of sustainable solutions.

The key learnings of the SPARCS project have been collected into the Finnoo energy and e-mobility playbook, which has now been published. The playbook can be used as a reference for developing new urban districts towards carbon neutrality and sustainability.
