The practical demonstrations from the Lighthouse City Espoo and the demo areas of Leppävaara and Espoonlahti act as guiding light for sustainable and smart urban development and the integration of novel energy and e-mobility solutions in the built environment. During the SPARCS project, the new developing Kera area has acted as an urban planning demonstration area, where the integration of the new urban energy and e-mobility solutions have been examined from the planning perspective.

The key learnings of this process have been collected into the Kera energy and e-mobility playbooks, which have now been published. The playbooks can be used as a reference for approaching new urban districts and brownfield development cases towards carbon neutrality and sustainability.
