On July 24, the city of Lviv held a pilot event titled “Installing Solar Power Plants on Roofs: From Theory to Practice”. The event provided a unique platform for Lviv residents to engage with experts from various fields, including city authorities, bank representatives, and scientists.

The training covered a wide range of topics, from the theory of solar energy potential in the community to practical experience in installing solar power plants. It also explored opportunities for financing from banks and support from the Lviv City Council, providing valuable insights for those interested in harnessing solar power.

The event gathered about 30 participants. This diverse group included residents, businesses, and heads of condominiums, all keen to learn more about the benefits and practicalities of solar power.

In a particularly engaging segment, the solar energy potential of the roofs of buildings in the Sikhiv and Signivka neighborhoods was discussed. This potential was assessed by the team of the City Institute and experts of the National Ecological Center of Ukraine as part of the SPARCS project.

The event marked a significant step forward in Lviv’s journey towards sustainable energy use and demonstrated the city’s commitment to fostering a green and sustainable future.
