Last week The City of Reykjavik approved a new Economic Development and Innovation Policy.

The new policy is challenge-driven meaning that key challenges to the city in the upcoming years were defined and then answered with a key focus area.

The six focus areas are: (1) Shared understanding between industry and city (2) Good business environment (3) New economic pillars (4) Tales of Reykjavik (5) Green Growth and (6) No one left behind.

The strategy process involved around 200 interactions with people from business, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The steering group was a mix of politicians and representatives of the business sector and innovation sector.
The policy can be viewed here in English.
