SPARCS Empowers Youth with New Engagement Models: a guide to Buddy Class concept
A key theme of the SPARCS project is the development of effective means of engagement, with the goal of identifying the best tools to reach and involve different resident segments. One of the project’s primary objectives is to co-create engaging management and planning models, ecosystems, and processes together with companies, partners, research organizations, and, above all, residents. The aim is to understand the key factors necessary for successful youth engagement and to develop solutions that ensure long-term involvement with specific groups. Through active engagement, residents are encouraged to integrate sustainable lifestyle practices into their everyday lives.
The Buddy Class activities within the project were designed to enhance youth engagement by connecting schools with the principles of sustainable development, fostering more sustainable lifestyles, and contributing to the future development of the city. This engagement equips young people with the skills needed to become responsible members of society and enables the discovery of innovative solutions.
The insights gained from the Buddy Class activities during the SPARCS project have been compiled into a comprehensive concept, now available for use. This concept can be applied in development projects aimed at engaging young people and increasing their participation in collaborative initiatives. It also serves as a valuable resource for schools seeking to partner with companies or organizations.
