SPARCS-Fete Lights Up Dunckerviertel
Under July’s sunny skies, the SPARCS party took place in Dunckerviertel, hosted by LWB. As one of the model neighborhoods at the forefront of the EU-funded project to develop energy-positive communities, Dunckerviertel engages locals through regular events. The SPARCS party facilitated interaction between citizens and Leipzig’s SPARCS partners.
Guests at LWB’s meeting place glimpsed future designs and projects of Dunckerviertel, . The Digital Participation Table (DIPAS) from Leipzig’s Digital City Department showcased city initiatives, enabling attendees to contribute ideas. Caritas, on the other hand, shifted the focus towards heating and electricity consumption, providing valuable energy-saving tips benefiting both household budgets and the environment. Cenero impressed with renewable energy showcases, explaining technological advancements in electrical engineering, smart metering, and energy consumption. Seecon engineers provided further details on the EU-funded SPARCS project in Dunckerviertel.
Artistic flair infused the event, courtesy of LWB. A table under graceful trees invited attendees to engage in crafts and painting. Over coffee, neighbors discussed community matters and local developments. The State Film Service screened for the children and their parents the film “Shorty and the Secret of the Magic Reef”. The audience accompanied Shorty on his adventure deep under the sea, prompting reflection on environmental issues.
Visitors had a chance to win goodie bags by completing a stamp card and answering questions with SPARCS partners’ assistance. This provided an opportunity to engage in direct discussions with local representatives.
The SPARCS team will return to Dunckerviertel in September for a family cinema screening on September 27th, 2023, at 4:30 pm, alongside an energy consultation session by Caritas and WSL. The neighborhood meeting place eagerly anticipates everyone’s return.
