For a second year in a row, SPARCS will be among 30 other EU projects led by the Smart Cities Marketplace in the upcoming Smart City Expo World Congress, set to take place from  7 to 9 November 2023, in Barcelona, Spain. As the world’s largest and most influential event  for cities and urban innovation, this congress promises to be a hub of groundbreaking ideas and initiatives aimed at shaping the future of sustainable urban living.

Under the banner of “EC Initiatives on Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities,” the European Commission is initiating a collective presence of approximately 30 partners comprised initiatives, projects, and DGs (Directorate-Generals), united by a common goal: to accelerate the implementation of sustainable urban solutions in alignment with the EU Green Deal and REPowerEU plan at local level.

The joint presence will encompass a series of engaging activities including a joint stand, congress and agora session and 3-day programme with topical discussion and session. Thought-provoking agora and congress sessions we will address EC policies and cross-cutting topics, focusing on the scalability of solutions across cities.

The EC Initiatives on Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities will feature an interactive program with sessions organised by participating projects and initiatives. These sessions will complement the themes discussed in the agora sessions and highlight on-the-groundwork.  SPARCS, POCITYF, RESPONSE and ATELIER joint session will be on 8 November 2023, from 14:00 to 15:00, where you can dive into the topic of Sustainable Cities Powered by Positive Energy Concepts.

Partners will have the opportunity to interact with visitors, showcasing their projects and services while promoting collaborative efforts. This vibrant collaboration aims to foster a European movement for sustainable urban solutions, ultimately contributing to the realisation of a greener and more resilient future.
