The city of Kifissia, represented from SPARCS’ local project manager Artemis Giavasoglou, participated in the final event of DECIDE:  “Ways forward for collective energy actions. How everyone can be part of the energy transition”, held in Brussels on 19 June. DECIDE is a H2020 project that aimed to understand how energy communities and energy efficiency services are best managed and how to best encourage participation. 

Within SPARCS, Municipality of Kifissia is working on the implementation of an energy community with the participation of the citizens. For that purpose Kifissia and local SPARCS team had shared knowledge with DECIDE and its partners within the past year about energy communities and energy collective actions.

During the day of the event we had the opportunity to attend and participate to many fruitful discussions about energy transition and ways of engagement of different stakeholders, considering technical and social barriers as well as regulatory models, policies and governance. Energy transition is a complex procedure that need the collaboration of many experts. New information and inspiration are fundamental for achieving our goal to become a green city.
